Birmingham Casino Cheat Has Attack of Conscience

A crook with a conscience is not something you often encounter, but a customer at a Birmingham Casino turned out to be just that after he won £425 while playing at a casino in Broadway Plaza.

According to the Birmingham Magistrates’ Court, the unemployed casino patron simply known as Adam took the opportunity to place a bet after the Roulette table had closed when he saw that the croupier had incorrectly turned his back. This resulted in the player being awarded the winning bet, but he left the casino without cashing in the chips and took them home. It is at this point that his conscience got the better of him and within a few hours he had asked his brother to return to the casino with the chips and the story of his crooked win.

Now this is where the story takes a turn for the worst for all involved, because the returning of the chips sparked an investigation which revealed through CCTV footage the cheating Adam and the negligent croupier. The croupier was subsequently fired and the casino patron was fined £100 with £15 victim surcharge and £100 costs in court.
